FULL TRANSCRIPT [00:00:04] that's to accomplish it to say it's just [00:00:07] hopper yeah yeah so it's a lot of people [00:00:11] well this would be kind of fun because a [00:00:13] lot of people say well if all I had to [00:00:15] do is train it huh I could do that to [00:00:19] sell them I get five awesome [Music] [00:00:51] hit the road at 2:45 a.m. this didn't [00:00:59] buy oh I like I like walking out of that [00:01:05] house it's like a warm comfortable house [00:01:09] really no reason to leave yep I think [00:01:17] anything great happens being warm and comfortable [00:01:25] I still live right here centennial partner [00:01:29] like three bucks a month [00:01:33] got our cars broke into his right leg [00:01:36] first got married [00:01:41] I'm gonna give it all I've got all I've [00:01:43] got at 23 I stay on [00:01:48] like smile [Music] [00:01:54] it's always been hard for Chino bull [00:01:57] hunters in the West naked and cam I mean [00:01:59] pretty much right now is one of the [00:02:02] biggest figures in bowhunting and he's [00:02:04] got their through work ethic I mean just [00:02:06] hard hard work ethic not only being [00:02:09] dedicated to bow hunting but also being [00:02:12] dedicated you know to running in [00:02:13] athletics and lifting weights I mean you [00:02:15] know he's just at a different level so [00:02:17] super proud of him that he's been able [00:02:19] to make it because it is hard really [00:02:22] really hard for you know a bull hunter [00:02:23] in the West to make it he's one of the [00:02:26] industry leaders I mean he has his own [00:02:28] signature bow he has his own signature [00:02:29] target I mean pretty much you know cam [00:02:32] probably turns down more sponsorship [00:02:34] because he's only gonna shoot what he [00:02:35] believes in I mean he's not he's not one [00:02:38] of the guys that's just out there just [00:02:39] gonna grab everything it's only what [00:02:41] works for him and what he believes in I [00:02:43] mean he really doesn't care about money [00:02:45] he cares about you know what works and [00:02:48] what works well and what he likes [Music] [00:03:10] we hit it at 2:45 this morning got it in [00:03:14] a bunch of miles now that what I do my [00:03:18] everyday is right before I take off I [00:03:20] got my cup of coffee I'm gonna grab but [00:03:23] before I do that and get my truck and [00:03:24] drive I'd get a few bow shots in every day [00:03:27] the key to what I do is repetition and [00:03:30] being consistent so the only way that [00:03:34] happened you can't really shortcut it [00:03:35] it's just reps so that's what we're [00:03:37] doing here right now [00:03:39] got my target down there at about 40 [00:04:04] right now headed to the nine-to-five [00:04:12] as far as why I don't know it was just [00:04:16] what I do I just get up and I go to work [00:04:18] so I've been I've had the same job for [00:04:20] 24 years before that I worked for nine [00:04:24] years this wire house I just worked up [00:04:27] into a warehouse supervisor and that's [00:04:32] like the only two jobs I've ever had [00:04:34] really to speak of [00:04:36] I missed days because I haven't [00:04:38] scheduled and I have vacation I've been [00:04:40] there a long time and then I do have [00:04:41] hunts and things like that but if I'm [00:04:43] supposed to be there I mean I'm gonna be [00:04:45] there everything I've never called on [00:04:47] sick in 24 years so it's like I'm [00:04:49] they're expecting me to be there I'm [00:04:51] gonna be there you can count on that [00:04:53] I go in early I'm usually there [00:04:56] half-hour early I stay late so I take a [00:04:58] little longer lunch and I just got to [00:05:01] get those miles in that's kind of my [00:05:03] time away I'm not really an office [00:05:04] person it's my job so I was like I don't [00:05:07] have a choice really but I really need [00:05:10] that to reset and get outside and get [00:05:14] some fresh air when I can go and bust [00:05:16] out ten miles a lunch it's like I come [00:05:19] back I'm thinking clear I'm fired up I [00:05:24] feel better just obviously physically [00:05:27] because I just got a good workout in but [00:05:28] also mentally and so that's that's what [00:05:31] I that's what I'll do and I'm taking [00:05:33] lunch anywhere from noon to 2:00 [00:05:35] whenever I can find that gap and you [00:05:39] know so I'm at I think around 18 miles [00:05:43] right now my goal generally my goal is [00:05:45] always to get a marathon done a day so [00:05:48] whatever I need to get eight more miles nine [00:05:51] something like that [00:05:58] his dad was sick for quite a while [00:06:03] before he passed away he had liver [00:06:06] cancer and kidney failure and he had [00:06:11] been a heavy drinker in his earlier life [00:06:14] had been clean and sober for lots of [00:06:17] years before he got sick and that was [00:06:22] really difficult for him because his dad [00:06:24] was someone that he just loved so much [00:06:27] admired so much [Music] [00:06:33] he taught down his dad service that I [00:06:36] know it was really difficult for him and [00:06:40] but he wouldn't have it any other way [00:06:43] he and there were a lot of people there [00:06:48] but he got up and said that what he [00:06:52] wanted to say about this dad and how [00:06:53] much his dad it meant to him and you [00:06:55] know his dad would have been more proud [00:06:56] of it I think it is a tribute to his dad [00:07:00] because his dad was so athletic and can [00:07:03] really looked up to him because of that [00:07:04] and so I think that you know he's [00:07:07] probably thinking dad I just ran 240 [00:07:11] miles you know his dad never did that so [00:07:14] I think it is a tribute to his dad that [00:07:16] he has become athletic like his dad was [Music] [00:07:30] so when we were kids I mean we went to [00:07:32] the Steen's mountains and we hunted in [00:07:34] the Kiger Gorge and you know here's four [00:07:37] young guys that just wanted a bowline I [00:07:39] mean that's all we wanted we there was [00:07:42] nothing really more in our life that [00:07:44] even mattered they were just so in their [00:07:47] element I mean we're going up to class [00:07:48] one morning and and I mean cam and Roy [00:07:51] and all of us are just kind of racing to [00:07:53] get to this you know this glassing spot [00:07:56] and we get up and we look up on the [00:07:58] hillside and I mean here's you know I've [00:08:00] ever forget Cam's like oh my gosh [00:08:02] there's a giant buck there's a giant [00:08:04] buck he's mine he's mine he's mine he's [00:08:06] mine he's mine he just you know and just [00:08:08] just remembering back to those days you [00:08:10] know what Roy it was just like the same [00:08:11] ways like oh my gosh there's a giant [00:08:13] buck over there and I mean both of them [00:08:15] were just pure excitement you know for [00:08:18] young guys and it was his first really [00:08:20] big mule deer that he'd ever really [00:08:22] killed and I mean from there that just [00:08:23] kind of launched his career I mean he [00:08:25] started writing and you know just [00:08:27] everything I mean he just everything was [00:08:29] just all we could do all we wanted to do [00:08:31] was bond and I became a archery shop [00:08:34] owner and and cam became the biggest [00:08:36] name in the industry and I mean we both [00:08:38] just followed our dreams and just wanted [00:08:40] a bow line I mean that's all it was was [00:08:42] just purely [00:08:43] bow hunting I mean we didn't want any [00:08:45] other weapon in her hand we just wanted [00:08:47] a bow and arrow and we wanted to pursue [00:08:49] our game and just have great adventures [00:08:52] in the outdoors and follow our dreams [00:08:54] and cam you know the person he is and [00:08:57] he'll tell you every time and he always [00:08:59] confesses to it it's because of just [00:09:01] cousin bow hunting it's just because of [00:09:03] the love of bow hunting [Music] [00:09:10] so right now what we're doing is just a [00:09:14] recovery session so cam doesn't take any [00:09:17] days off so we have to do implement [00:09:19] recovery every single day so this is [00:09:22] just a partner stretching stretching the [00:09:24] hips legs IT band quads we just do a [00:09:27] head to toe every with movement so right [00:09:30] now we're just putting movement into his [00:09:32] hips today he took 47 thousand steps so [00:09:37] his body is a little tight you know yet [00:09:39] pulling a bow might if you just did that [00:09:41] you might be unbalanced but when we lift [00:09:45] we do even amounts on both sides so it's [00:09:47] uh we put in way more work lifting [00:09:50] weights then it's shooting about 2:45 in [00:09:55] the morning or 7:00 o'clock at night [00:09:57] what's harder none of this hard hard is [00:10:02] uh having cancer or when your dad dies [00:10:08] or your best friend dies which I've had [00:10:11] both those happen this isn't hard this [00:10:15] is what I love to do I love to feel the [00:10:19] pain they say you make friends at pain [00:10:22] and you'll never be alone yeah why y'all [00:10:27] trippin all food is so cool [00:10:30] why you working like I don't do this and [00:10:32] you say you be small I think I'm gonna [00:10:34] need to know proof - I bet somebody [00:10:38] might lions tigers bears huh me that [00:10:42] sound like a snack I could do it if I [00:10:54] had this right it's like no we're all a [00:10:56] part of the same opportunity I came from [00:10:59] I didn't have all I ever wanted was [00:11:02] my dad around my house and he wasn't and [00:11:07] nobody would want my childhood nobody [00:11:10] would say oh you had so lucky you had it [00:11:13] so good no wonder nobody would want to [00:11:15] trade me how I grew up so the way I see [00:11:18] it is if I can come and achieve dreams [00:11:24] that I never even thought possible [00:11:25] anybody can anybody can but there's no [00:11:28] secret to it as punching that time clock [00:11:30] is putting in a work every single day [00:11:32] and one the sooner you realize that the [00:11:36] quicker you're going to get to the path [00:11:37] where you want to go and you can do it I [00:11:40] mean nobody has to believe in you nobody [00:11:43] has to see the dream [00:11:44] nobody has to get it it's all in you [00:11:47] it's you and pretty soon though come on [00:11:49] they'll be like oh I guess guess [00:11:52] you up I mean guess you were onto [00:11:54] something I guess I may be that is real [00:11:56] but to get started you don't need anybody [00:12:05] for one of the things that I'm so proud [00:12:08] of cam about is when he worked for Eastman's [00:12:11] bull honey journal and he had a section [00:12:14] where he wrote and they were having a [00:12:17] meeting and he was talking about running [00:12:19] and they said you know nobody cares [00:12:21] about your running him and that just [00:12:25] motivated him so much he didn't even [00:12:28] miss a beat [00:12:29] he just went okay well maybe you don't [00:12:31] care about my running but I do and he [00:12:33] built that into something that a lot of [00:12:36] people care about and I think it was [00:12:37] because of that negative input that he [00:12:40] got that he just went with it okay well [00:12:43] I care about it we'll see who cares [00:12:45] about it how amazing is this that the [00:12:47] reason why I like this event here I [00:12:50] think we've done this this might be five [00:12:53] years now five years yeah so for all you [00:12:57] guys have been here all five years thank [00:12:59] you I appreciate you so much but for [00:13:02] even if it's your first year I like this [00:13:04] event because it takes a little hard to [00:13:07] get up here this morning it's in the 20s [00:13:09] it's early it's just getting light it's [00:13:12] a Saturday morning so it this gets us [00:13:15] ready for hunt season as early starts [00:13:17] but the fact that you're here sets you [00:13:20] apart from so many people this is why [00:13:22] you're probably successful in life is [00:13:25] because you have heart you have passion [00:13:27] you have something you have a purpose [00:13:28] and this gives me strength seeing you [00:13:31] guys I here just need the strength so [00:13:33] thank you [00:13:34] let's get a big hell yeah for a Saturday [00:13:36] morning rod yeah [00:13:48] [Music] [00:14:55] you
