FULL TRANSCRIPT [00:00:00] and that's and that's what I attack I [00:00:02] attacked myself I'm always questioning [00:00:05] myself I'm always holding myself [00:00:07] accountable talk to me about the [00:00:08] accountability mirror so the [00:00:10] accountability mirror is something that [00:00:12] I kind of came up with in high school [00:00:15] like I said I started shaving my head [00:00:17] not sixteen mm-hmm and I got caught up [00:00:19] in trying to impress so many people [00:00:21] because no one liked me so I developed [00:00:24] so many different identities [00:00:25] let me sag my pants you know let me okay [00:00:29] let me pull my pants up let me let me [00:00:31] talk this way or act this way or be this [00:00:33] way or whatever the hell it may be god [00:00:35] there's so many different things I did [00:00:36] to try to fit in with so many different [00:00:39] groups that when you look in the mirror [00:00:43] that's the one person you can't lie to [00:00:45] so every morning I would shave my head [00:00:47] thanking God I reflect back on some of [00:00:50] the lies I may have told somebody or [00:00:51] some of the ways I acted I ain't feel [00:00:54] comfortable doing and I did it to [00:00:55] impress other normal people the key word [00:00:59] there is normal everyday people I was [00:01:01] trying to make other people like me how [00:01:03] pathetic is that so I did this mirror [00:01:08] would always tell me my I got my [00:01:10] reflection to say God you are a pathetic [00:01:11] man how does that feel every day to be [00:01:14] this way so I would just start having [00:01:17] myself accountable how how did I attack today [00:01:19] how did I attack yesterday and if I [00:01:22] didn't do something I was proud of I [00:01:23] write down a sticky note and I would fix [00:01:26] it so then my senior year in high school [00:01:30] it was a totally different David godness [00:01:33] can you give an example was something [00:01:35] that you wrote down and fixed all right [00:01:36] there was a lunch table yeah you know I [00:01:39] wanted to sit the cool guy learns to go [00:01:40] man I know even though everybody thought [00:01:42] me [inaudible] on time I wanted to try to act [00:01:45] like somebody I wasn't so I could fit in [00:01:47] and I sold my soul to the devil you know [00:01:51] trying to act like no I'm David [inaudible] [00:01:54] Goggins that's who I am and so I wrote [00:01:57] down on a piece of paper [00:01:58] [inaudible] the table sit by your [inaudible] self [00:02:02] and that's what I did and guess what [00:02:04] happened my table became a table people [00:02:08] started sitting in because a whole bunch [00:02:10] of people in that lunch room [00:02:13] so exactly like I did as long as you [00:02:15] list of things I just write down in this [00:02:18] fix so I write down to fix it were there [00:02:21] are things that you look to for role models
